PowerLab/MacLab的構想最初來源于新西蘭的Otago大學生理學系。他們對當時使用的老式紙
帶記錄儀(多導生理記錄儀)的性能不是十分滿意。鑒于當時Macintosh計算機的發展潛力，他們要求
Michael Macknight 先生(ADInstruments的創始人之一)幫助設計一種計算機化的多導生理記錄儀
以代替老式的紙帶記錄儀(多導生理記錄儀)。
Michael于1985年制造了第一臺MacLab，一臺連接Macintosh計算機的多導生理記錄儀。不久，
他又設計了兩個主要軟件Chart(記錄儀軟件)和Scope(示波器軟件)，這兩個軟件用于控制多導生理記
錄儀，并包含一定的顯示和分析功能。這就是PowerLab的前身。
一開始，Michael僅僅在新西蘭制造和銷售MacLab。直到80年代末，他遇到了澳大利亞人Boris
Schlensky先生，兩人一拍即合，開始一起改良MacLab并拓展全球的市場。從此，PowerLab
/MacLab漸漸成為了全球首屈一指的多導生理數據記錄和分析系統。
90年代初，隨著中國經濟的崛起，中國的科學家開始尋找更優秀的多導生理記錄儀。就在這個時
期，PowerLab被部分科學家帶進了中國。由于PowerLab系統使用簡便、功能強大，很快受到了廣
大中國研究工作者的喜愛，漸漸成為了主流的多導生理記錄儀。為了更好的服務中國的科學家們，
ADInstruments于1997年在上海成立了辦事處，2000年成立了中國公司。如今，數百臺
PowerLab多導生理記錄儀被廣泛應用于生命科學的各個領域。為了更好的為廣大用戶服務，我們也
將會不斷的完善我們的軟硬件和服務，為大家提供更新、更好的功能！

Education sites include prestigious Universities such as: Oxford, Cambridge, Heidelberg, Harvard, Stanford, Tokyo and Sydney.
Today there’s an installed PowerLab user base of more than 23,000 systems, which is supported by a network of eleven ADInstruments offices and over forty distributors around the world.
