Hoefer is world-renowned as the premier supplier of gel electrophoresis , blotting and imaging equipment. Founded in San Francisco in 1967 by Peter and Jacqueline, pioneers in electrophoresis, Hoefer, the company rapidly became recognized as an innovator and its distinctive electrophoresis products can be found in laboratories all around the world. Hoefer products are the standard in electrophoresis and blotting that others follow.
The Company's mission is to offer scientists products that are intelligently designed, easy-to-use, of high quality, and yield consistent and reproducible protein and nucleic acid electrophoretic separations. Hoefer designs, manufactures, and distributes an expanding line of instruments, accessories, and consumables to the highest standards of excellence. Products include vertical units such as Chroma, SE600, SE250, and MiniVE, horizontal units HE33 and HE99, and blotting instruments TE22, TE42, TE62, TE 70 and TE77. Hoefer also offers a line of state-of-the-art imaging systems under the trademark of ULTima. A full line of complementary products like power supplies, fluorometers, chillers, filtration units, visualization units, Caliber reagents are also available.
Today, Hoefer is a wholly owned subsidiary of Harvard Bioscience. Hoefer, Inc. is also the exclusive distributor for Biochrom’s Amino Acid Analyzer line of products in the United States.
