1896年 Riichi Satake 先生在日本創立了 SATAKE 公司，是現任董事長 Toshiko Satake 女士的祖父，這家公司最早在日本推出電動稻米磨粉機，將米磨成米漿。經過百多年來的努力和發展，成為各種谷物設備制造的大公司，在食品市場占有重要的一席之地。1980年在美國德州休斯敦擁有分公司，1991年時將英國的面粉設備工廠納入旗下，成為多元經營的跨國大企業。
類似這種企業的發展，早期從最簡單的機械制造開始，逐漸的踏入食品制造的領域，各種不同的原料可以發展出廣泛的食品制品出來，其規模越來越大，產品越來越多，觸角越來越廣，在自由化及國際化的趨勢之下，總有一天會在全世界各地制造銷售該公司的系列產品，他山之石可以攻錯，企業經營需要有眼光及魄力。
SATAKE 公司 UK Division
日本 SATAKE 公司擁有一家英國老字號的磨粉機械公司，在此敘述英國分公司的歷史。早在1878年時，所有的磨坊都是采用石磨將谷物磨制成粉，但是Henry Simon先生在那一年推出了他所設計的第一座采用滾輪磨粉機的制粉工廠，這位機械設計天才將原本石磨的時代改變為機械滾輪磨粉的新時代。他的工廠位于英國的曼撤斯特，磨粉系統稱為「Gradual Reduction」。
在1881年時，Henry Simon先生為 McDougall Brother 建造一座整套全世界最先進的自動滾輪磨粉面粉工廠，這項成就震驚了整個工業界。到了1892年，英國、歐洲、非洲、印度、南非、澳洲及日本等地，已經有四百多家面粉工廠采用「Simon」系統的磨粉設備。短短二十年之內，他已經將面粉的傳統磨制方式革命性的改變成他發明的系統。
在英國Lancashire地區的 Rochdale 有家 Thomas Robinson & Son 父子公司，在1838年時從事木材生意，約在1882年他們發現經營磨粉設備是一項擴充事業的好機會，利用現有的商店、工廠及裝配零件改為生產銷售制粉設備大有可為，1884年 Thomas Robinson & Son 父子公司宣告他們可以生產制造全套的面粉工廠磨粉設備。
Henry Simon 有限公司成立于1897年，而 Thomas Robinson & Son 父子公司則成立于1880年，早期 Henry Simon 將他所設計的機器在歐洲販賣時，他在1902年建造屬于自己的機械工廠。這兩家公司各自在制粉設備市場上經營了超過一個世紀，占有大部份的外銷市場比例。到了1988年10月份的時候，兩家公司合并為Robinson Milling Systems Ltd.，又在1991年時被 SATAKE 集團并購為 Satake Robinson UK Ltd.，不久改名為 Satake UK Ltd.。1998年正式稱為 Satake UK Division，Satake的英國分部。
追根究底為何日本的 SATAKE 公司會并購英國的公司？日本的 Riichi Satake 先生在1896年成立磨粉公司，得力于來自蘇格蘭的 Douglas 和 Grant 兩位先生的技術指導，而 Henry Simon 先生則是在1898年首度引進他的制粉設備到日本的長崎，這些歷史因素創造出合作機緣。
