Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, U-Systems, Inc. manufactures ultrasound products specifically designed for earlier detection of breast cancer. While ultrasound has long been regarded as a valuable adjunct to mammography, inherent limitations with traditional, hand-held ultrasound limit it's adoption as an efficient screening tool.
To address the limitations of hand-held ultrasound, U-Systems has developed proprietary hardware and software technology to create a unique imaging device, the somo•v® Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) system. The somo•v's ergonomic scan-head technology automatically acquires wide field-of-view breast images and displays them in a 3D format.
The somo•v ABUS images are immediately displayed in an easy-to-read format. The patented Thick-Slice Coronal View provides the radiologist with a quick overview of the breast. The somo•v's automated acquisition and unique field of view, allows radiologists to review more breast tissue, quicker than with conventional ultrasound.
